Winter sports in Lapinlahti since 1989.

Lapinlahden Luistin LL89 and K-market Ruokamestari Lapinlahti entered a cooperation agreement under which the store returns a set percentage of qualifying purchases by members' families, supporters, and the club's wider community to LL89.

Founded in 1989, Lapinlahden Luistin has grown into a vibrant winter sports club that serves as a gathering point for the local community. The club brings together athletes, families, and supporters who share a passion for ice sports. From the earliest days, the focus has been on creating opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy skating, whether recreationally or competitively. The club's long history in the Lapinlahti region is built on volunteer effort and a love for winter traditions. Over the decades, the rink has become a second home for many, where skills are developed and friendships are formed on and off the ice.

The club offers a wide range of activities spanning ice hockey, ringette, floorball, and figure skating. These disciplines cater to different interests and skill levels, from young beginners taking their first strides to experienced players competing at higher levels. Each sport has its own dedicated training groups and development pathways, ensuring that every member can find a place that suits their goals. The coaching staff and volunteers work hard to create a supportive environment where athletes can improve their technique, build confidence, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with being part of a team.

Youth development is at the heart of the club's mission. The junior programs provide structured training that emphasizes both athletic growth and personal character. Young players learn the value of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance while having fun on the ice. The club also runs skating schools and introductory courses for those who are new to winter sports, making it easy for families to get involved. By focusing on positive experiences and skill progression, the club helps young athletes build a strong foundation that can carry them through their sporting journey and beyond.

Community support and volunteer involvement are essential to the club's ongoing success. Parents, local businesses, and former players all contribute their time and resources to keep the rink running and the programs thriving. The club organizes events, fundraisers, and social gatherings that strengthen the bonds between members and the wider Lapinlahti area. This collaborative spirit ensures that the club remains accessible and welcoming to everyone. Whether through coaching, organizing, or simply cheering from the stands, every contribution helps sustain the traditions that have made the club a cornerstone of local winter sports life.
